One Earth, one thread that binds us.

Our Commitment to the Earth
Tequila production processes are the most industrialized among all agave-distilled beverages. In the United States, Tequila competes with Vodka and Whisky in sales.
Between 2020 and 2025, 3.23 billion liters of tequila were produced and 2.25 billion liters of tequila were exported. While this growth is beneficial, it poses a significant environmental challenge due to the large amount of waste generated for each liter of tequila.
Conventional disposal methods, such as burning, composting, or chemical treatment, recover little of the material value and can contribute to additional environmental strain.
Cuemái addresses this issue by transforming agave waste into sustainable, biodegradable textiles, thereby reducing environmental impact and creating economic opportunities for farmers
Our Solutions
We operate within an existing biological and industrial system, transforming tequila waste into material while generating value where tequila is distilled.
By integrating tequila-based fibers into textile applications, we reduce dependence on synthetic materials and the petrochemical systems behind them.
No Additional Land
By working with what is already grown, we avoid the primary environmental cost of traditional textiles.
Water Efficiency
Blue agave is a xerophytic species adapted to arid environments, requiring up to 50% less water than conventional row crops.
Regional Impact
We operate within existing tequila-producing regions, contributing to local economies beyond alcohol production.
Responsible System
Tequila is part of a highly regulated ecosystem under the Denomination of Origin, overseen by the Consejo Regulador del Tequila (CRT).
